Adult Students Returning to School
TTC has a large population of students who have been out of school for many years and are returning to upgrade skills, retrain for new jobs, or just take personal interest courses. Nationwide, more than six million older adult students attend college each year. If you are one of these students, you will discover that you have a lot in common with TTC students. TTC has class schedules and services that accommodate the needs of nontraditional students who may be working and/or providing caregiving.
Will I be able to learn and compete with younger students?
Faculty appreciate the diverse perspectives that nontraditional students may provide in the classroom. Generally, older adult students are self-motivated, self-directed, and committed to their studies.
